Do You Need to Unplug?

tangled

This is in my bathroom. It takes a lot of equipment to put myself together above the neck. Hair dryer, a flat iron, and a couple different size curling irons are some of the weapons I use to keep this thinning perimenopausal hair from looking like Gary Busey.

It’s a wrestling match until I unplug them all start over. Then it feels easy again. Frustration is gone, simple and effective.

I think about how unplugging keeps all of life simple and more effective.

So many voices screaming for attention; political, cultural and spiritual.

“You should do this.”

“You should believe that.”

What do you need to unplug? A group, a relationship, a vice that tangles your emotions? When the result of an action or relationship brings confusion and frustration, it probably needs to be unplugged from your life. Maybe for a season, possibly longer.

You’re a big girl now, you don’t have to do what the voices tell you.

Instead of the frustrating wrestling match, try unplugging and making it simple again…

A pretentious, showy life is an empty life; a plain and simple life is a full life. Proverbs 13:7 The Message

One Word 365 might be helpful too…

I hope you have a wonderful New Year. Sue
