We can not shrink back in our beliefs and convictions. We have to stand for what’s right even when we are humiliated and scorned.
I do believe that God created this world from nothing. I do believe that there was a great flood. I do believe that Jesus came as God’s Son, died on a cross, was buried and then 3 days later rose from the earth alive. I believe the whole Word of God.
And I believe that He did it to pay the price for my sins. He did it so that I would have the opportunity to identify myself with that death, burial and resurrection as payment for sin. That I could receive LIFE when I acknowledged that it was done for me and asked Him to forgive me and bring me into fellowship with the Father.
Rom 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. NIV
We are in a battle, but the battle is not to fight men, it is to live for God…show His goodness through our lives, show His love and mercy.
Eph 2:3-6 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. NIV The same grace that we received is available to all, even the mocker. Our job is not to condemn and judge this world, we have to offer grace.
Stand. Stand for truth. Stand for love.
I have been so frustrated with some of the things I hear lately and frankly, I’d just as soon pray for God to smote them all! But God has a better plan.
Rom 12:17-21 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. NIV
Those are some powerful words!!!!!
I said to Mark this morning, “I am so tired of people dragging God through the mud!” His response was basically that God is not moved by it, why should I be.
UGH! So true.
