Inside-Out Change Requires An Offering

"So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out."

Romans 12:1-2 MSG

Why is God asking us to give Him an offering? The Old Testament tells us of the animal sacrifices made in the temple to atone for sins, and the New Testament tells us of Jesus being the ultimate sacrifice, redeeming us forever when He died and rose again. But now, the Lord is asking us for our everyday ordinary lives as an offering.

Why?

There is much to unpack in God’s Word, but I believe part of this answer can be found in the incredible desire that God has, to establish and strengthen a loving relationship with us. In placing our everyday, ordinary, sleeping, eating, going to work, walking around life, as an offering before God, we are surrendering our needs, our desires, and our comforts in an extremely personal act of worship.

How would your life change if you brought Him your everyday ordinary life as a offering?

Is it time for some inside-out change?
