Who Controls You?
A good friend said this to me many years ago:
“When you are making a decision, the person whose opinion you worry about the most controls you.”
It hit me hard. I realized that I was letting the wrong people control my life.
I want the answer to that question to be: God first, then my own heart/soul and after that, my husband. All the other voices need to take a back seat.
I can honestly say that taking hold of who controls me has changed my life. Perfectionism works to please everyone else, peace lives to be true to oneself.
It is a daunting, exhausting and frankly a depressing life when we live to please everyone else.
I’m encouraging you today to take back the control of your life from those who can’t be trusted, and give it back to the One who wants the best for you.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT
